I went to JoAnn and took pictures of fabric to send to a potential client. I also got a probable job at an alterations shop, starting at the end of August/beginning of September.

We went to two other used bookstores, Pam's Paperback Exchange and the Used Bookery, and used trade credit (we'd gone through our books and found a box-full to get rid of) to get even more books. Alex got Star Trek and Isaac Asimov books and I got these.

We went to our favorite used bookstore, Edward McKay's, and used trade credit to get some new books. These are the ones I picked out.

We went to my in-laws' house so Alex could set up sound recording equipment for his dad. Alex built that guitar display case in the background for his dad one year.

You know what this means by now.

The fountain at the movie theater where I stopped to ask about job openings was an unnatural blue. I don't know why.

Bonus shots: the fountain, then a view off a bridge shot from the car, then flowers and a pier at the beach where we stopped for a few minutes while job hunting (may as well post them all)

Our new dishwasher

If this week's photos look unusually clear and crisp, it's because I turned the compression down to 1 and forgot to turn it back up.

Alex's parents took us and his sister and her son out to lunch. A nearby, newly-opened frozen yogurt shop was giving away frozen yogurt for free so we stopped by. I tried their cheesecake-flavored frozen yogurt. It was pretty good. This is what their yogurt cups (and our place mats) look like.

I took some pictures of chain options for a necklace for a potential Etsy customer.

After a not-so-great afternoon that involved taking my car to get a new battery and get the brakes checked, I watched parts of The Fellowship of the Ring because I wanted to see some of it without watching the whole thing. I mostly watched Hobbiton, Rivendell, and Lothlorien.

Alex and I met his parents in Elizabethtown for lunch. I thought it was cool because I've seen the movie. We picked up our marriage license from them, which is what you see reflecting on the car window I took this shot out of.

I made pineapple chicken for dinner and started a cooking blog.

Sorry for another self-portrait, I was just playing around with using a sheet of paper to diffuse the flash.

Last Saturday after the wedding shower some of Alex's relatives had for us, we went to our favorite used bookstore, Edward McKay, and I got this and a book of Lord of the Rings art.

Alex took me to a midnight showing of Snow White and the Huntsman. I enjoyed it (though it's far from perfect). On the way back we saw two deer (there's only one in this picture; you can stop looking).

Alex finished putting the table and benches together, I made potato soup, and we ate it in our new bowls on our new placemats.

May 29

Another phase of sewing room organization. It's just starting to look like a room here.

Bonus shot: Alex started putting our kitchen table together.

The cake toppers for our wedding were Eowyn, Captain Kirk, and the TARDIS. They've found places on our DVD shelf.
